Dear Faculty and Staff:

As your read through this school policy handbook, remember that it serves as a
guide and does not supersede the policy manual of the Kershaw County School
District. You are asked to read your handbook carefully, especially the sections
concerning expectations. You are also encouraged to study the District’s Policy

Manual which is on-line at the district’s web page.

The mission of Bethune Elementary, in partnership with parents and community,
will provide a safe and nurturing environment for all students while preparing them
to become responsible, life-long learners who are college and career ready for

success in our global society. Daily, we keep our vision in mind to be “Always
