ABSENCES: In accordance with Kershaw County School Board policy GCC/GDC/GCCBA,
employees are expected to come to work every day. The board recognizes, however, that certain
absences are unavoidable. At such times, employees should comply with provisions of these policies
and their accompanying administrative rules.
Pre-arranged absences should be requested using the Request for Leave Form and approved by
the administration. This Pre-Authorization Leave Request Form should be submitted to the principal
for administrative approval. Once approved, all staff absences will be recorded through the attendance
clerk by use of a KCSD Absent Employee-Substitute Report. After you have reviewed the form for
accuracy, please initial your leave code, add your employee number, and sign the form promptly. The
pink copy of this form will be placed in your mailbox once the form is complete.
