PARENTS’/GUARDIANS’ RIGHTS NOTIFICATION
Parents/Guardians in the Kershaw County School District have the right to learn about the following qualifications
of their child's teacher: state licensure requirements for the grade level and content areas taught, the current
licensing status of your child's teacher, and baccalaureate/graduate certification/degree. You may also request
the qualifications of an instructional paraprofessional who serves your student in a Title I program or if your
school operates a schoolwide Title I program. Parents/Guardians may request this information from the principal
by calling 843-334-6278 or by sending a letter of request to Principal Estelle Benson.
-Title II, ESSA Requirement
PARENT –SCHOOL COMPACT: Our school and the parents of the students participating in activities, services, and
programs funded by Title 1, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), are to agree by signing the
School-Parent Compact at the beginning of the year. The compact outlines how the parents, the entire school staff,
and the students will share the responsibility for improving student academic achievement and the means by which the
school and parents will build and develop a partnership that will help children achieve the state’s high standards.
