The annual Military Cord Ceremony recognizes

graduation from high school. The students from
Broome High School that have chosen to serve
their country are: Daniel Chadwick (US Army Natl
Guard), Hope Cox (US Air Force), Faith Horton
(Marines), and Shane Sanford (US Air Force).
Sally Sprouse-Anderson, a Broome High School
alumna and teacher, is "All In" for anything she has to
do to help her students succeed. She strives to keep
the social studies curriculum relevant and meaningful
for her students. In addition to her teaching
responsibilities, she coaches varsity girls’ basketball
and track.
Cary Harris’ Honors Physics class, at Broome
High School, spent the day at BMW
Performance Driving School. Students learned
how to control a vehicle on a wet skid pad and
during panic braking. While riding with skilled
driving instructor, Derek Leonard, students
traveled about 85 mph in a M3 BMW
experiencing how to maintain control of an
accelerating car in a variety of conditions. It
was a thrilling way for students to experience
firsthand the laws of physics.
