Clifdale Elementary School
Tonya McCullough’s third grade class at Clifdale
Elementary School learned all about poetry and
enjoyed making shape poems. Students did a
great job and really enjoyed this assignment.

connections. Students have Skyped with
classes from Lithuania and De Soto, Kansas to
learn about their schools and daily lives.
Courtney Smith’s second grade
class at Clifdale Elementary School
take math very seriously! Students
were engaged during a game of
sums using regrouping.
Clifdale Elementary School had a very
successful literacy night thanks to Melinda
Long. She is the author of How I Became
a Pirate and Pirates Don’t Change
Diapers. Students learned how she
started writing, had a read-aloud and
presentation, and had the opportunity to
get an autographed copy of her
book. Aarrgh!
