Courtney Smith knows how to fuel her Clifdale
Elementary School students forward. Second graders
had Close Reading, like a detective, to prepare for a
special treat on Friday.
Every Friday in October, Clifdale Elementary School’s Relay
for Life sponsors a basketball shoot-out. Congratulations to
this fifth grader who made a half-court shot!
In honor of Fire Prevention Week, the Converse Fire
Department came by Clifdale Elementary School to
give presentations on fire safety. They spoke with
each class in every grade and discussed what Melissa Allen’s running club at
students can do to prevent a fire, what to do in case of Clifdale Elementary School
a fire, and showed off the fire truck. doesn’t just exercise. Students
also fuel up with healthy
snacks.
Clifdale Elementary School students know
how to conserve energy, thanks to Duke
Energy and My Energy Kit who came out
and presented Kilowatt Kitchen. Who knew
conserving energy was so fun…and funny?
