Somerset College Preparatory Academy and Somerset Academy St. Lucie are public charter
schools sponsored by the School Board of Saint Lucie County. Unlike a private school,
wherein parents must pay tuition, SCPA and SASL are funded by tax dollars and provide free
education to any eligible student residing in the Saint Lucie County School District.
The purpose of SCPA and SASL is to provide an individualized, academically rigorous, and
engaging curriculum focusing on the ever-changing needs of our learners. Our educational
process encompasses a partnership among the school, family and community. We strive to
develop students who are self-assured, well-rounded and prepared for future success.
It is the collective vision of the Academies to become an educational environment where
academic excellence is the norm and cultural diversity is respected; to create a plan that
enhances learning through information, communication, education and technology. We will
strive to prepare all Students to be lifelong learners in an ever changing world. Learning will
take place within and beyond school walls by sharing community resources and providing
equitable access to information and communication technologies for all members of our
community.
