PARENT COMMUNICATION

Parent-instructor conferences should occur on a regular basis. Emphasis should be placed on each
student’s success and creativity along with academic or behavioral difficulties that the student is
experiencing. Instructors must keep and maintain a Parent-Instructor Communication Log and
specify whether such contact was in person, by telephone, or through written correspondence, etc.
When required parent contact is not achieved, evidence of attempts to contact the parent needs to be
recorded. Instructors should be professional at all times. At no time shall an instructor or staff
member discuss issues relating to any student or staff member outside of a conference in the presence
of other parents or students. Parents and staff may be kept aware of activities via the school calendar
on the school’s website, postings around school, the school newsletter, email, Skyward Messaging,
by phone, and through informational literature sent home with students. Please refer to the
