The Frog Parable

Once upon a time there was a pond of frogs, They loved their

pond and spent happy days swimming and enjoying life. One

day a frog said to the others; we have no god to worship. What

must we do to have a god? One frog suggested that they pray for

a god. All the frogs began to croak a prayer in a loud voice so

that it filled the night with sound. Out of the sky came a

lightning bolt and struck a dead tree by the pond. There was a

loud explosion and the tree fell over into the pond. The frogs

were terrified and hid under the water for a long time. Finally

one by one their eyes popped up and broke the surface of the

water. They
