celebrate and worship the dead log in their pond. After a time
they became brave enough to come near the god. Soon they
found that they could sit upon the god and be comfortable in the
sun. They found many uses for the god as a place to croak and
catch insects. One day one of the frogs complained and said; this
god is nice and useful but it does not do anything on its own.
Wouldn't it be nice to have a god like ourselves that can do
something? So the frogs decided to pray again for a God that
could do something. They began to croak in the night in prayer
in a load voice that filled the night. A dark shadow appeared in
the sky and circled the pond. The frogs all jumped into the water
and hid. In the morning when light came they looked upon the
log and saw a great crane bird standing upon their god. The
frogs all rejoiced and were thankful because they now had a real
god that was alive like them. The frogs all swam to worship the
crane god. The crane god began to eat up the frogs to their
surprise and after many days there were almost no more frogs in
the pond.
The Moral to the story is that it is better to have a dead god that
does nothing than a
real god that requires your life.
Many Christians today have their dead god and dead churches;
they live dead lives in sin because they do not want a real God
that says they must lay down their lives. They are comfortable
sitting upon their pews and croaking out their dead doctrine of
