3.3 DESCRIPTION OF THE ROBERT TRENT JONES JR. COURSE
Hole 3
A good idea to aim for the left side of the green. To carry the water on the right side is a bit longer. And be sure to have plenty of club to keep dry.
Short par 4 hole, yet still dif cult. The tee shot has to be aimed just short of the fairway bunker since nding the bunker will leave a very dif cult second shot. A shorter, more accurate tee shot in the left side of fairway will leave the best entrance to the green and yield a full iron shot to this longish green. There is a small fairway area behind the green and beware of the left greenside bunker.
Long and dif cult par 5. Target line from the tee is a little dip in the hori- zon line in a fairway on top of the hill or perhaps slightly right of this. Go forward and get an idea where to land the next shot, since the next shot is partially blind and the lake is de nite- ly in play. Hit the ball short or right of the lake to lay up for the next shot to the green. Be aware that the strong slope guarding the front of the green requires shots to land on the green.
The tee shot must negotiate a histor- ical rock wall and should be aimed towards the left fairway bunker in the right side of the fairway. From the fairway bunker the shot to the green is very dif cult. For most pin loca- tions, leave the approach shot short of the ag for an uphill put, except for when the ag is in the front of the green. Be careful of the menacing bunker protecting the left side of the green.
