In 2016, the PCRB is excited about a number of initiatives underway or planned. In additional to
maintaining the level of service outlined in this report, there are a number of programs identified
intended to improve upon the products and services already offered. One significant initiative is
to complete an assessment of PCRB’s IT infrastructure, including development of a proposal for
upgrading the environment with sustainability as a primary objective of the project.
LOOKING AHEAD
My brief time with the PCRB has proven rewarding and reaffirming of my unwavering view of the
importance of Independent Rating Organizations and the National Council in support of the
workers’ compensation system in the United States. Like other Independent Rating
Organizations, the PCRB has a strong reliance on the resources, cooperation and
communication provided by our members. Additionally, our Governing Board and various
committees advise and direct us in the accomplishment of our purposes, positioning us to
provide the best possible level of service and support for a competitive marketplace. The
collaborative association with our counterparts in other rating organizations across the country
helps us to understand topical issues for the industry, and to develop or adopt effective
systems, procedures and guidelines for the benefit of our many and varied constituencies.
Personally I am most grateful for all of these dynamics and synergies. Also, with deep
appreciation, it is my honor and privilege to be associated with the complement of diligent,
experienced staff consistently striving to deliver quality services as efficiently and effectively as
possible.
