Option 1
Corporate/Department Identification
When used in conjunction with the corporate image, department and division names can be used in different configurations as shown here. The typeface used for department and division identification is to be Univers Light Condensed.
The combinations can be as follows:
1. This option shows the configuration to be used for items such as stationery. The department, division and contact information can be moved further to the right as indicated on stationery guidelines (pages 11-15).
2. Centred version. In this usage the proportions between the Corporate Image and department/division names should be maintained. As in option one the typeface to be used is Univers Light Condensed. DO NOT use bolder typefaces for department/division names as this will visually overpower the corporate brand image.
3. In some instances where signage is shared with another municipality and space considerations are important, the logo and logotype can be separated with the type ’Region of Waterloo’ used larger in comparison to the logo. This also allows the logo to appear larger.
4. Used with the horizontal version of the Corporate Image, the proportions should be as indicated with the top of the department name lining up with the baseline of the logo. Longer department or division names can be split into two flush left lines as shown. The department name would be in capital letters and the division name in upper and lower in a smaller type size.
The logo and logotype are not to be condensed or elongated under any circumstance.
Ampersands are not to be used in Region department or division titles.
