Introduction
Welcome to the revised graphics standards manual for the Region of Waterloo. Since the new corporate image for the Region of Waterloo was designed, approved by Council and implemented in the spring of 2002, the application of the logo has evolved, and changes, updates and refinements to the guidelines were necessary.
This Manual was developed with the help and consultation of various Regional departments.
All Regional departments, Committees, and other Regional agencies are responsible for adherence to the Corporate Image standards established in this Manual. Should questions arise about these guidelines, they can be directed to the Director of Communications, 519-575-4408.
This Manual may be further updated and revised as required.
This manual outlines mandatory guidelines
and standards for use of the Region of Waterloo’s logo to ensure consistency when incorporated in all Regional materials. It is meant for use by employees of the Region of Waterloo, various Regional departments and related agencies, plus outside suppliers providing services to the Region. The Corporate Image and related graphic materials are the property of the Region of Waterloo.
The Region’s logo is a valuable asset of the Region and its consistent and comprehensive use will provide an identifiable, positive image of the Region both inside and outside the community.
Since its debut in 2002, the Region of Waterloo’s logo has become a strong and recognizable symbol within the region. For citizens, the Region of Waterloo’s logo has come to represent a brand for innovative programs, superior services and dedicated staff.
Unauthorized use of these images is prohibited.
Any variations from guidelines established in this manual must have written approval from the Director of Communications. These guidelines and standards relate to most applications. They do not cover specifications for the design of brochures, advertising, posters and other marketing materials which would limit design capabilities and marketing effectiveness.
The guidelines governing the form and spatial use of the Corporate Image must be adhered to.
In certain circumstances such as building signage, the cost to completely replace them across the Region would be prohibitive.
Since its implementation, the new logo has been applied to these units but because of the existing configuration/design the Regional logo may appear to contravene the graphic standards guidelines. These instances will be minimal and must have official approval.
