Once you find your passion you also will find out you’re purposeful -- that is -
- your life has a purpose. Whatever that may be -- travelling, landscaping, knitting,
fitness, fashion design, entertainment, or cooking -- stay in the know of the current
trends and best practices and be the best that you can be by developing yourself
within and outside of your current endeavor.
Initially, it is going to be hard, but practice, and practice some more; then it
gets easier. Soon, but surely, the reward comes as you keep plugging at it. Suddenly
others think that you’re an “overnight success,” oblivious of the hours, sleepless
nights, weeks and months you put into it. Never mind all those failures and anguish,
scraping and not knowing where and when the next meal is coming, or pretending
not be starving when you see other people order meals at the restaurants or
cafeterias; they are all water under the bridge. No pain, no gain they say, but through
it all, you’re here. You have earned every penny! Michael Jackson (R.I.P) wasn’t the
greatest entertainer because of his pedigree or skin color. Rather he was the best,
across all ethnicities because he spent months, weeks, days and hours -- perfecting
his craft -- he didn’t put out records (CDs) because his audience was ready for a new
album (CD). He released his albums when he believed they were ready. For example,
an average Michael Jackson’s album took no less than five (5) years in the making
(statisticians would say 4 years: 28 years divided by 7 albums). But he was not the
kind that released shoddy records, CDs or songs.
When an album of Michael Jackson dropped, it transcended a hit; it was
certified PLATINUM, regardless of what some industry “experts,” who got their job
because of who they know or the color of their skin, may say or write on their column.
Michael Jackson was unique; a Genius.
