With the bloom of Spring in the air, the Manhattan Park District has a lot of news to share…
Let us begin by introducing you to the newest member of the Manhattan Park District team, our new Executive Director, Jay Kelly. Jay
comes to us from the Downers Grove Park District, however has served in many capacities for several parks and recreation agencies
throughout his 20 plus years of service in the industry.
With the transition complete, a new era of “Your” Park District begins! As a board, we have focused the direction of the Manhattan
Park District to be a more community friendly and customer service orientated organization. Jay will be leading his team in bringing
new and exciting programs to our community, while always looking to achieve the highest value in the services provided.
Like with any transition, it will take time to realize the full impact of change, however, change is on its way! Here are some new and
exciting things to look forward to:
• New and innovative program offerings • Evening customer service and
• “A Sip of Summer” Concert Series registration hours
• Central Park Splash Pad Ribbon Cutting and • Enhanced Before and After School Care

Park Watch
We need your help in keeping the parks clean, safe, and free of vandalism. If you notice any acts of vandalism or antisocial behavior
in any park facility please call the park office at 815.478.3324. Major misconduct should be reported directly to the police. Also, if
you notice equipment in need of repair or have any other concerns, please call the park office. Your support in our effort to provide
quality park sites is greatly appreciated.
