Manual Filling Line with

Innovative 4-Stage Vibratory

Feeder

Supplier of fresh herbs, baby greens, and specialty produce
decided to modernize its manual filling and packaging line. Upon
contact with All-Fill, the customer presented its packaging prob-
lem. Filling its offering of micro greens (an arugula-basil-parsley
blend) required the product to be differentiated into its sepa-
rate constituents. Additionally, the product frequently got tan-
gled into “clumps” upon arrival from the bulk source. Easily
separated by hand during the manual filling process, an auto-
mated solution was yet to be considered.

All-Fill’s response was a specially designed 4-Stage
Vibratory Feeder that provided the needed differentiation of
the products, as well as de-tangling the accumulations arriving
from the bulk source.

Machine consists of a primary Vibrating Pan that moves
product from the hopper to a motor-driven Separator compo-
nent. The Separator consists of rotating tines that separate and
untangle the bunches of herbs. An arrangement of three cas-
cade vibrating pans provides the differentiation into an even,
regulated product stream for the fill. A loadcell-equipped Weigh
Bucket at the end of the vibrating pan allows product to accu-
mulate until the desired target fill weight achieved. When
reached, the bucket empties to a discharge funnel. An air-oper-
ated plunger cleanly deposits the product into a positioned
pouch.
