RES-PACK is a face mask that consists of hanji (Korean
traditional paper) coated with dried alginate hydrogel.
We invent a chemical-free face mask by only using nat-
ural substances that are harmless to the human body.
"Hydrogel" is a porous polymeric material that can hold
skincare substances. We fabricated our hydrogel using
alginate, a natural substance extracted from seaweed.
By doing so, we were able to make a fully recyclable
face mask. To bolster the skincare effect, we included
Korean traditional natural herbs: green tea, mugwort,
and black bean. Moreover, because RES-PACK is a
dried product, preservatives are not required for main-
tenance. This allows our pack to be 100% chemical-free;
therefore, RES-PACK is not only effective but also
HARMLESS to the human body.
