Meet The Land Family
hese remarkable grandparents just officially adopted their
grandchildren, a group of ten siblings, earlier this year.
TThe kids were in care for over three years, but luckily
much of this time they were with their grandparents. The foster
care workers, family preservation staff and adoption case workers
all jointly worked to make this family whole again and their
perserverance, attention to detail and willingness to work hand-
in-hand with the grandparents every step of the way made this
forever family possible.
Adoption Supervisor, Natalie Roelfzema said, “I could not agree
more! I do want to highlight from my perspective of supervising this case
the excellent quality of work and joint effort that went into this from both
the foster care and adoption end. The grandparents did a wonderful job
of keeping their grandchildren safe and well cared for while in foster care
and were open to parenting suggestions that helped them establish a new
household with 10 children.”
These children have achieved permanency because of the
coordinated efforts of the Samaritas foster care, family
preservation and adoption teams. It takes a village and then
some, but the Land family is now a forever family, thanks to all
involved. For more information about foster care and adoption,
