Grand Rapids First Church Furnishes a New Home
When Samaritas Substance Use Disorder
(SUD) client Christina of Holland, Michigan
needed to get back on her feet, Pastor Troy of
Grand Rapids First Church in Wyoming led
the way to help her manage her recovery in a
welcoming environment.
He also brought other parishioners to ensure
that Christina felt abundant love and support
in her new home. Together they furnished
her entire apartment, with furniture, towels,
bedding, and even kitchen utensils.
Holy Cross Episcopal Game Night
Thanks to the volunteers of Holy Cross Episcopal Church for hosting, and providing dinner and desserts for the families
and children of the Samaritas Westland Family Center earlier this year. Everyone had a blast!
Fall Decor and Fun at the Family Center
Thanks to our long-time friends, Bonnie and
Manny Reyes, and their friends Elaine and
Deanna from Resurrection Catholic Parish for
bringing some autumnal cheer to the families
and the Samaritas team at the Samaritas Family
Center in Westland.
The Resurrection crew brought pumpkins and
gourds, mums, hay bales, festive signs and
friendly scarecrows to help greet families outside
and inside the front door.
“We absolutely love it!! Some little ones have
spotted the decorations and are excitedly
running around!
Thank you all so much,” said Tamieka Andrews,
Samaritas Family Center Director.
