John Quinn defeated Jal Richardson 10 – 3 while the other 2 games finished after 9
9 ends with Any Steel all square with Andy Leckey and Eddie Curran 11 – 4 up on
Joe Beattie. The 55 – 29 win was thoroughly deserved with every neutral delighted that
Donegal had registered their first men’s inter zone title qualifying them for the Top Team
event.

Mcilroy Cup

The Ladies Inter Zone final for the McIlroy Cup was the first of a double weekend with
both Armagh and Donegal contesting both the ladies and men's inter zone finals. Armagh
with 7 previous wins, the last in 2016 were favourites to defeat Donegal who had 2 previ-
ous wins the last being in 2015. It was a strange game and although Armagh led through-
out there were times when it looked as if the Donegal ladies might create an upset.
