In the next round the Irish faced
“A” Triples winners Left Ryan McKeown, Philip Scotland and a stunning full house six on
McKeown, Adam McKeown, with Bromsgrove the second end set them on their way.
DC Vice Chairman Councillor Malcolm Glass, They also later scored a five and even-
ESMBA President George Clark and Runners-up tually won 19 - 11. Scotland won almost
Chris Terry, Steve Buckett & Richard Jeffrey. half of the ends played but could not
match the scoring rate of the Irish..
Completing the round England faced Wales in a match that would have graced any final.
After 14 of the 15 ends there was no separating the teams at 11 shots each but the English trio
managed a vital single on the last end to win 12 - 11.
In their last end all Ireland had to do was win for the Triples title and a clean sweep of wins
but it was not to be. It looked to be plain sailing for the Welsh at 17 - 11 with two ends to go but a
three and a two got the Irish within a
whisper of a draw, just losing out 16 -
           17 in the end.
                 England meanwhile romped
           home 22 - 10 against Scotland. This
edged them one shot ahead of Wales
but four shots behind the Irish, who
took the Triples title, with England sec-
           ond.

the last end against England’s Peter “A” Fours winners PJ McCrossan, Gary Moore,
