In mounting tension it was the
Welsh team that snatched a vital 10 - 9
victory with a vital single. Unbeknowns
to both teams, this in the end effectively
decided the title.
Meanwhile, Ireland’s Tom, William,
Andrew and David Morrison were dis-
patching Scotland’s Robert Robinson,
Robert Cook, Robert Weir & Alex
Waugh. The Irish opened up with a stun-
ning five and never looked back winning
22 - 5.
In their next game the Irish looked
set for another win leading 13 - 9 with
just two ends to go. Firstly the Welsh
struck back with a four to level the score
and then finished off with a single to Standing Triples Champions Alan Evans, Sean
snatch a 14 - 13 victory. Hughes, Marley Hughes and Mark Thorpe, wth
England meanwhile romped home ESMBA President George Clark and
27 - 4 against Scotland. In their final kneeling England’s runners-up with
game Wales wrapped up the title with a Steve Proctor, Keith Lackford and two others.
21 - 4 victory over Scotland and finished
off with a superb 13 - 2 win over the Irish four to seal their runners-up spot with a superb 13 - 2
win over the Irish.
