Paul Wright kept his form in the Semi-finals and beat Sam Runnacles 6 - 2. Also making the
final, Grant l’Ami edged through over Daniel Walker 5 - 3 with the help of a last end single. In 7
the final l’Ami was 4 - 2 down after four ends but took the next four ends scoring six shots in
the process to take the Singles title by 8 shots to 4.

a couple of closing singles gave the Runnacles an 8 - 6 victory.
Another snatched last end singles gave Paul & Sue Cousins a 6 - 5 triumph over Carl Pearson
& Sam Runnacles. Completing the Quarter finals, New Zealand’s Grant l’Ami & Suzanne Mackie fin-
ished with two twos for an 11 - 6 win over Steve & Sue Isles.
In the Semi-finals the run of the New Zealand Pair was firmly halted by Paul & Sue Cousins who
easily romped home 10 - 4 with an end still to play. It was a very similar scoreline in the other semi,
with Rita & Pete Runnacles beating Andy & Sue Gilder 10 - 5. In the final the Runnacles were in
simply outstanding form with a clean sheet win 12 - 0 with two ends still to play.

This year's event was held at the Stanley Indoor Bowling Centre, County Durham.

with a good win over Suffolk, Durham
fell to a heavy defeat at the hands of
Cambridgeshire. That left Herts 2 points
clear of the rest.
