               established a winning lead, but the
               Templecombe Pair did the same, so
               the result depended on the Singles.
                     Welsh international Luke Had-
               don  put  ex-England  international
               Alan Berry under pressure from the
               start but Alan put up a dogged fight
               and  the  score  remained  close.
               However,  Luke  won  the  last  two
               ends  for  a  9-5  victory  giving
               Skewen the trophy for the first time.

               Six teams from Devon including
               the holders, West Hill, five from Somerset and one from Dorset, played four games
               each, the winner being the team with the most points. Yeovil and District League Di-
               vision 2 Champions, Hadspen, played consistently well all day and so deservedly
               won the competition with a maximum 8 points. Woodbury from Devon were clear run-
               ners-up with 6 points.

                                                                    Languidic is situated in Southern Brittany
                                                                    with a population of around 6,500. The
                                                                    club has 24 members having gained an-
                                                                    other 4 but lost their founding president
                                                                    Hugh  Telford  and  his  wife  Betty,  who
                                                                    have moved from France back to Ireland.






















                                                             Visitors are always welcome; anyone passing
                                                             on the N24 from Lorient to Rennes will get a
                                                             warm  greeting  from  members  and  a  cuppa.
