27 CBM APAC Kickooff intro,
Fit Gap Analysis
FOREWORD - PROJECT KICK-OFF
In 2017, JDE embarked on a journey of integrating Super Group into a regional powerhouse of Coffee & Tea brands. Since then, we commenced an exciting journey of discovering growth synergies and unlocking growth opportunities throughout the Asia Pacific ( APAC ) region. To give some examples, we’ve combined JDE and Super Group businesses in Thailand and China and are optimizing our manufacturing footprint and leveraging our Non-Dairy Creamer (NDC) manufacturing capabilities and C&T insourcing strenghts. The key intention of these business integrations, is to establish the JDE presence in APAC and make the JDE business bigger, better and stronger.
Concurrently, we recognise the regional businesses’ diversity and have started focusing on organizational and cultural integration as a foundation on which we can build our platform for future growth. This platform – the Combined Business Model (CBM) APAC –will be the JDE operating model and as such the fundamental framework for continued sustainable future growth within the APAC region. We already incorporated some elements of CBM APAC’s JDE “signature” processes, eg. Annual Operating Planning process., Integrat- ed Business Planning, People Performance Management and Talent Management since 2018. Bringing those “signature” processes into practice is not always easy and we value all the hard work that each of you have put in to roll out these processes and deliver objectives against all odds! Our compliments and a big THANK YOU to all involved!
On 1st July, we are proud to announce the launch of the next phase of CBM APAC deploy- ment: building one organizational model with one aligned set of roles and responsibili- ties managed by a regional headquarter to manage the growth in the expanding APAC region, cascaded from Global to Regional, unified by one common way of working around our core processes from Bean to Cup, , enabled by one IT platform SAP. This deployment is given the name of Project Oasis.
Project Oasis will manage the implementation of CBM APAC with a go-live date of 1st May 2020. After that day we will continue our journey towards sustainable future growth on this solid platform, as one combined regional business.
In the past 2 weeks, the Project Oasis team held Country Change Tour Workshops for Malaysia and Singapore. This kicked off a series of workshops that will continue in China and Thailand in H2 2019, with the aim of identifying gaps between the CBM model and current business requirements for which we need to decide on adjusting or enriching the CBM template versus adjusting the current ways of working. Therefore we would give fair attention on the change impact on ways of working and people, as preparation to manage this change towards the go-live date in May 2020.
In this newsletter Peter Tan and Charles Li have provided insight from Operations and Marketing & Sales perspective in why CBM APAC is an important enabler for future growth. We will introduce the project team and inform you about what has been achieved during the workshops. As JDE associates, we are all part of this exciting journey to become even more united with the other 16000 associates serving consumers in 143 countries across the globe, delivering on our promise of “a coffee for every cup”.
