What is That Partnership Thing? 47 Indiana Partnership FAQ Does an Indiana Partnership plan cost more than one that is not Indiana Partnership approved? Generally, no. You do not pay anything extra for an Indiana Part- nership approved plan. However if you want total asset protection, you may choose to buy a higher beneft level than you might have otherwise purchased. This may result in a higher premium because you have a greater beneft than you may have had with a dollar for dollar asset protection plan. How can I be sure the policy I am purchasing is Indiana Partnership approved? Ask your agent if the plan s/he is offering is Partnership approved. To fnd a list of companies that offer Indiana Partnership plans go to: http://www.in.gov/iltcp/2360.htm. I already own a Long Term Care Insurance policy. How can I check to see if it is Indiana Partnership qualifed? On the front page of the policy you should fnd this statement: THIS POLICY QUALIFIES UNDER THE INDIANA LONG TERM CARE INSURANCE PROGRAM FOR MEDICAID ASSET PROTECTION. THIS POLICY MAY PROVIDE BENEFITS IN EXCESS OF THE ASSET PROTECTION PROVIDED IN THE INDIANA LONG TERM CARE INSURANCE PROGRAM. If you do not see that statement, contact your agent or insurance company to fnd out for sure.
