Toadbury Hall Country Hotel Breakfast Run

Some of our Porsche Club members emerged from self-isolation determined to experience the freedom of nature
and socialise. Our October Porsche Club Breakfast run provided the perfect opportunity as it was hosted at the picturesque Toadbury Hall Country Hotel. Catering to the needs of discerning Porsche enthusiasts and making sure they discover new places and obtain good value for money can sometimes be challenging. But finding a magnificent little 5-star gem in the heart of Muldersdrift (which many seasoned Jo’burgers did not even know about), makes everything worthwhile.
The night before the breakfast run the weather predictions looked dire, and a 90% chance of rain was forecast. The breakfast run would have taken place at WildWood Brasserie, an open deck restaurant overlooking the Crocodile River on the premises of Toadbury Hall. But since pouring rain would have been less pleasant for our guests, Noni from Toadbury hotel graciously allowed us to move the breakfast to one of their indoor conferencing centres, Toad Hall at no extra venue hire.
The run started from Linksfield Terrace where many joyous reunions were observed around cups of steaming cappuccinos from Wiesenhof that opened bright and early exclusively for the Porsche Club. We also had the pleasure of welcoming new members and some old (new) members such as Prof Cora who explained that she has now joined a cult and announced her analysis of the four types of Porsche Cult members. She explained that Porsche Club members predominantly fall into the category of driver enthusiast owner, in other words, the typical petrol heads that enjoy the pleasure that Porsche motorcars instil in us.
Toadbury Hall is nestled between enormous indigenous trees and lavish gardens overlooking the beautiful dams and gardens. This time of the year, everything was lush green, complemented with blooming roses and the smell of lavender.
Cilliers van Niekerk welcomed guests
and informed them of further events
being hosted such as Sim racing, the
