Wi n t e r

 By Priya Winn, Grade 6

The cold brisk air rushed by me as I walk to school,

Kids of all grades rushing in to beat the monster
When the wind turns and the paths to the school turn white

Kids adoring the moment they just walk in when the nicest thing
Wraps them in the warmth like a soothing outstretched arm for comfort

I finally get to school . . . the home stretch
 I hear somebody beside me call . . .

Katie, but then she stumbles upon a stone that looked pale
"Hi! Let,s go in!" I plead.

 She agrees with a happy smile on her face. Gr ow i n g out i n a bl i zzar d
 When we walk in, we exchange relieved glances . . . H ol d i n g on t o h op e

 We were finally warm!
