However, given the possibilities for
a future wave of the pandemic and a deep consumer recession, as well as the approach of Brexit, we cannot afford to become complacent about our day to day business.
Our attitude must be one of “it’s only half time, we’ve got to win the second half too” as we approach the latter months of the year. We also have the task of flawlessly implementing Gazelle. Whilst I’m pleased to report that we are making excellent progress, the main work still lies ahead of us, so please give this the focus required to successfully deliver against your individual accountabilities; your efforts and attitude in the first six months of 2020 give me absolute confidence that this will be the case. Further specific communication on Gazelle will be circulated over the next few weeks.
It’s been great to welcome our office teams back to Manderson House this week and see many of you face to face. As we’ve consistently said throughout the pandemic, our number 1 priority is your safety and that of your colleagues, and we have taken the necessary steps to make the office fit for purpose in these new circumstances, and in adherence with the latest Governmental guidelines.
Ultimately, however, the success of these new working
JOHN
arrangements relies on each one of us taking individual accountability for our actions, be that around social distancing or hygiene practices, so please ensure you follow the guidance provided.
Hopefully, we will also be able to welcome our sales & home-based people back to the office fairly soon; I will obviously brief any changes as soon as possible. If you have any questions regarding any of the new procedures or working practices, please refer to the information circulated by your Controllers last week, which is also available on the Larder. Alternatively, please speak to myself or any member of the Leadership team.
In closing, thank you again for your hard work and commitment that have put us in such a strong place so far this year, and let’s ensure we now finish the job and see 2020 through to a successful conclusion as we enter the final few months. Stay safe and see you soon.
