No Matter the Size, It’s Life Through My Eyes
Jeslyn Sun
Every morning is the same for me
In the crack of dawn, I rise up and get ready
After my early job is complete
I head out, with the time to beat
In school I’ve got to keep things in check
Can’t let hard work stray from my trek
To a future only my choices can decide
Bad or good will guide
But I must keep my eyes wide
Trouble loves to hide
At the end of these hours
I used to think all of the seven flowers
Were picked for the day
Not all plans go the first way
Several times caused two to add
Golf used to snatch nearly all the time I had
For schoolwork such as projects
Parents used to think these effects
Would not give me enough homework room
Something that if unchecked will be my doom
Not only through skill and power
Is victory earned
But also with teamwork and dedication
With every hour
Are strategies learned
When all succeeds, comes the blissful elation
At the end of the day
Your choices are what make it “nay” or “yay”
For me
Nothing in life comes for free.
For a successful future, keys must be found
Without it, closed doors surround
They choke and force you in
But I fight them back with a grin, holding high my chin
For every open door is another lesson learned
And another year of experienced earned.
