LEAVES OF ABSENCE
Lupin provides a broad array of paid and unpaid leave benefits. Where applicate state or local law
provides a more generous leave requirement, eligible employees will receive the additional
benefits required by such state or local laws.
Jury Duty Leave
Lupin supports employees in fulfilling their civic responsibilities by serving jury duty when
required. However, employees must inform their supervisor/manager of the jury summons as soon
as possible so that arrangements can be made to accommodate the employee’s absence.
Full-time and part-time employees will be paid for up to five (5) days away from work serving
jury duty per calendar year. If service is required beyond 5 days, and for temporary employees,
time spent on jury duty service will be paid or unpaid in accordance with applicable state law. If
the time is unpaid, you may use available PTO to cover the time. In all cases, exempt employees
will be paid their full salary for any week in which they perform authorized work for the Company.
If you are excused from court during regular working hours, you are expected to promptly report
to work. You must keep your supervisor/manager informed regarding your anticipated return to
work. After completion of jury duty, you must provide your supervisor/manager with written
evidence of your time spent on jury duty. Employees will not be terminated or demoted due to jury
service.
Either the employee or Lupin may ask the court to excuse the employee from jury duty, if
necessary, or request that the court allow the employee to choose a more convenient time to serve
if he or she makes a request in accordance with the court’s procedures. The employee will be
expected to cooperate with this request.
Leave for Legal Matters
Lupin recognizes that an employee might be subpoenaed or otherwise required to serve as a
witness in a court case or arbitration. If an employee receives a subpoena to testify and will be
required to miss work in order to comply, the employee must notify his or her supervisor/manager
or HR as soon as practicable after receiving the subpoena.
Employees will not be paid for the time they are away from work participating in a court case or
arbitration, except in limited circumstances, but they may use available PTO to cover the time.
Your time away from work to testify will be paid if you receive a subpoena to testify as a result of
a crime against Lupin or an incident you are involved in during the course of your employment.
Employees will not be terminated or demoted due to their participation as a witness in a court case
or arbitration.
