LEADERSHIP SPIRIT
EMPATHY: To what extent do you care about major issues in a community, society, Vietnam, and the
world? To what extent did you contribute to actively support, enable, make consistent efforts and
contributions towards making a positive impact, creating a betterment of life for yourself and others?
EXCEPTIONAL ABILITY: How did you demonstrate your knowledge, capabilities, and competencies in
the professional area of your degree at international standards? To what extent are you able to
implement a research project, respect academic integrity, recognize trends in science and technology,
and make decisions based on scientific data analysis?
CREATIVITY: How did you demonstrate your ability of self-learning, life-long learning; thinking
differently, outside of the box, anticipating great opportunities, and striving for big goals; having
ambition and desire to be pioneers in emerging, new and creative directions.
ENTREPRENEURIAL MINDSET: How did you demonstrate yourself in actively seeking opportunities and
daring to participate in challenging projects, national and global competitions/activities? To what
extent are you ready to lead and run startup projects right during university life? To what extent are
you able to make decisions, take responsibility, accept calculated risk, and desire to win. How were you
able to bear pressure, balance study – research – practice, and work at the same time? How did you
demonstrate yourself being resilient, not easily giving up your goals, learning from failure, and
adapting quickly?
LEADERSHIP SPIRIT: How did you demonstrate your ability to lead yourself, being self-confident, self-
respect, self-orientated; Able to live and learn independently. To what extent would you be able to
lead others by inspiring and connecting with friends, faculty, and externals; build teams having the
same will, and strive to achieve common goals. How would you demonstrate your readiness to
potentially lead an organization, being open-minded to diversity, and equipped with global
experiences?
PART B – FIRST INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN
You would only have a limited time studying at VinUni, hence, we want to make the best use of that precious time
to help you exploring your potential and developing your attributes and capabilities.

1 step: you need to define clear goals to achieve at the time of graduation, and at the end of the first academic
year. The goals could be related to your study, capabilities, skills, health, scholarship, career, financial situation
... or anything you think is critical for your college and career life.

2 step: conduct self-reflection in relation to your personal attributes, attitudes, and capabilities. What are your
strengths, what need to be improved to achieve the goals?

3 step: identify a few important (3-5) actions you would do to pursue your goals. Actions could be related to
conducting important research, extend your network, improve your skills weakness, improve your health, or take
important internship at reputable corporations…
