English 10-4, 20-4, 30-4 are courses designed to strengthen communication, reading,
writing, analytical and comprehension skills. It is intended to provide students with the
opportunity to experience success and become well prepared for employment, further studies, active citizenship
and everyday living.

Social Studies 10-4 and 20-4 are courses where students will examine globalization, the process by which the world
is becoming increasingly connected and interdependent. They will explore historical aspects of globalization, as
well as the effects of globalization on lands, cultures, human rights and quality of life. The infusion of multiple
perspectives will allow students to examine the effects of globalization on peoples in Canada and other locations,
including the impact on Aboriginal and Francophone communities. Students will develop skills to respond to issues
emerging in a globalizing world, with particular emphasis on local environments and situations..

Math 10-4 is a course designed to provide students with the mathematical understandings and critical-thinking
skills identified for entry into the majority of trades and for direct entry into the work force. It is intended to
provide students with the opportunity to experience success and become well prepared for employment, further
studies, active citizenship and everyday living.
