OCTOBER AT A GLANCE
OCTOBER 1
Exploring Archery Class 1:30 - 2:30 p.m.
This one-hour class will teach the basics. Topics include range safety, rules, equipment, the 11 steps to shooting and arrow retrieval.
All equipment is provided.
Children, adults and families are welcome.
Children must be age 8 or older to participate and must present a signed parent/guardian waiver.
You must pre-register to participate. Class maximum is 12 participants. FEE: $12
OCTOBER 7
World Card Making Day 12:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Come celebrate World Card Making Day by crafting a nature-inspired card for a special someone! The OAC will provide all of the supplies. All you need to do is bring your creativity!

Mesoniche carnivore project - Meet University of Michigan’s Applied Wildlife Ecology Lab and learn about the opportunities to participate in this cool science

Are you interested in learning about Michigan mammals and other wildlife? Have you ever wondered which wildlife species are right in your own backyard in the city of Detroit? Come meet members of the Applied Wildlife research team to learn more about the Mesoniche project – a research project that uses remote cameras to study activity, behavior, and distribution of carnivores in our state. The team is in need of citizen science volunteers to help with the launching of this project in Detroit. That could be you! Stop by to learn more.
