We all go through different stages in our lives - both professionally and personally.
Sometimes when circumstances shift , we have to reshuffle our lives - one way or
another. My children are going through particular challenges in their lives now, so I need
to devote all of my time and energy to my family. I think that an important aspect of
professionalism is knowing when to take time out and make tough decisions, especially
when one’s work is meaningful and rewarding. So, this is simply time out for the time
being until I’m ready for the next stage in my life as an educator.

The committee wish Sylvia the best and thank her for tremendous work on the
committee. We also wish Dimitris Primalis well and thank him for his generous time
and effort as social media manager for the last few months. Meanwhile, Vicky Saumell
is staying on in her position as treasurer, while Nikki Fortova is also staying on in her
position as Events Organiser having being voted for by the committee at our May
meeting.

Elections

Sylvia’s departure means that the position of webmaster needed filling. Phil has stepped
into this role following elections among the remaining committee members. He will give
up his current position as newsletter editor, subject to a new one stepping forward. With
Dimitris co-option as the social media manager ending in June, this position is also now
vacant. Therefore, we have opened the call for applications for this and these other
following positions on the IATEFL LTSIG Committee:

Newsletter Editor
Social Media Manager
Online Events Organiser

Development Administrator

LTSIG rules require that only current members of the SIG, who have been members for
at least six months, may stand for election to the committee. We are looking for dynamic
people who have the time and interest to take over these exciting roles and participate
in the running and development of the LTSIG.

The nomination form and details about how to apply has been sent out to all LTSIG
members via IATEFL Head Office.
