Just like Vegas, what happens in New Orleans stays in New Orleans, right? Don’t be so sure! This fun
and interactive session will take a look at unmasking ethics in our professional and personal lives.
STUDENT/NEW PROFESSIONAL SESSION
Transitioning from a student to a professional or are you a new professional? Join some professional,
seasoned reporters, CART providers and Captioners as we answer your questions and give you some
tips and tricks to help you be the best professional you can be! We’ll also have some great prizes!

TRANSITION FROM STENO TO VOICE: LAISSEZ LES BON TEMPS ROULER
Tori Pittman, BA, FAPR, RDR, CRI, CVR-CM-M, RCP
Whether you are interested in learning voice to add to your skill set or you are in a physical dilemma of
how to keep working in this great profession, this session will guide your steps down the path of adding
voice writing to your repertoire. We’ll cover topics such as resources you can tap, educational and
testing opportunities, understanding the theory of voice and how to make the best use of the software
knowledge you already have, and also give tips on how to discuss with your colleagues how voice can
help prolong both your career and add to the strength of the reporting profession. Upon completion of
the session, attendees will have a good grasp of the next steps needful in making the successful
transformation into becoming a realtime voice writer. (This session will be primarily via PowerPoint and
audience participation)
Tori Pittman, BA, FAPR, RDR, CRI, CVR-CM-M, RCP, is a freelance court reporter based in North Carolina. As both a former
freelance office manager and currently owner of her own small reporting agency, she is continually striving to learn new
methods to develop the best marketing strategy for her area and her desired type of work. Tori is also an avid participant
and supporter of Intersteno.

association. This is your opportunity to participate in the business of NVRA.
