Our Kitchen department have been very busy in the last few months:
th
• On 14 June Executive Chef Nicolas welcomed 2 students from Jersey College
for Girls, studying GCSE in Food and Nutrition, in Tassili for day packed with cooking
demonstrations and workshop.
• On another day our vegetarian competition winner, Tracy Vitor came in and
had a masterclass with Luis our Tassili Sous Chef. They made parmesan arancini,
olive macaroons and rocket sorbet from the Tassili menu and also made Tracy's very
own winning recipe of grilled asparagus and wild mushroom linguini with ricotta,
served with a drizzle of truffle oil.
On 12th April Sophia Bird from ITV came to harvest
some crops from the Tassili garden and make herb
butter with our Head Chef, Nick. Grand Jersey kitchen
got some TV coverage
Tassili supported this year’s Earth Hour event, by
hosting a unique ‘dining in the dark experience’. Diners
discovered different foods from a surprise seven
course tasting menu whilst blindfolded and sitting in a
dark restaurant. It was truly a mouth-watering and
unusual sensory experience which received very
positive comments from all the diners
For the World Gin Day our Terrace was turned into a Gin Garden with unique gin based
cocktails created especially for the weekend and home infused gins like cucumber, thyme
and lime. The sun was shining and the weekend a success.
