LONG-TERM CARE INSURANCE
LONG-TERM CARE INSURANCE (LTC)
Long-Term Care Insurance covers expenses when care is provided to an employee
or covered family member who needs assistance with daily living activities due to
an accident, illness or advancing age. Long-Term Care Insurance is an affordable
way to help protect yourself against the high cost of long-term care. Care may be
provided at home or in a facility.
You may purchase benefit amounts for yourself, your spouse, children over age 18, siblings,
parents and/or parents-in-law and grandparents and/or grandparents-in-law from $2,000 to
$9,000 per month for confinement in a facility or as a home-care benefit. Benefits may be
paid if there is a physician substantiated loss of two or more activities of daily living due to an
accident and/or illness or advancing age.
The cost of Long-Term Care Insurance coverage is based on the applicant’s age at the time of
enrollment, so the sooner you enroll, the lower your monthly expenses for as long as you keep
your initial level of coverage.
You pay the premiums for your own and your spouse’s coverage through payroll deductions
and your coverage is portable if you leave TCW. Other family members will be billed for their
premiums. Please note that all covered individuals, including yourself, will have to submit
proof of good health if you elect coverage after your initial eligibility period.
