7.2.8 Intensive Outpatient Treatment
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a state-licensed intervention used to battle substance abuse addiction and address life recovery issues. It is offered by Real House, Inc. under a clinical environment and consists of two parts: Group Counseling and Individual Counseling. CCEP participants attend the IOP over 9 hours weekly in at least four months covering various topics from Emotion Management, Pre-vocation and Vocational training, Relapse Prevention, Parenting Rehabilitation to Consumer Advocacy. They are placed in a comfortable and secure circumstance to focus on the pressing problems caused by substance abuse and efforts to remain abstinent.
8 Year 1 Results 8.1 Introduction
A statistical analysis/evaluation plan is included with this report as a reference as to the goals and objectives the CCEP program intends to meet during the five-year course of the grant. In these results sections, we will report only on the outcomes for which the grant was able to produce data during this first year.
All quantitative measures were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Means, standard deviations, and other relevant measures will be provided. All outcomes and metrics that require percentages and counts were evaluated using rudimentary mathematics, and were checked for accuracy in Microsoft Excel or a similar spreadsheet software. Percentages were calculated as the number of women who achieved a certain goal divided by the total number of women eligible to achieve said goals and objectives.
8.2 Goal 1: Increase safe and healthy pregnancies and improve birth outcomes.
8.2.1 Objective 1: Link CCEP participants to medical, dental, necessary hospital, and other health care services, including obstetrics, gynecology, diabetes, hypertension, and prenatal care.
Outcome 1.1: All (100%) CCEP participants will be screened for alcohol misuse and FASD risk behaviors.
All women of childbearing age, i.e., females age 18–49, affiliated with the CCEP were expected to be screened for alcohol misuse. Screening was be conducted for the woman at intake by a Family Page 19 of 58
