It's Queen Elizabeth II 92nd year and businesses across the UK are beginning to think about the
impact of the Queen dying. In view of this AEV has issued us the following email:-
Here is the summary for the death of the Queen (applied across the Commonwealth):
If the Queen dies overnight, it would not be announced until 8am the next morning.
There will be a 12 day mourning period between a death and the funeral, where the Queen will
lie in state.
There will be two National Bank Holidays – the day of the Queen’s funeral and the day of the
coronation.
On day 104 (or later) – The coronation will take place.
It was noted that there would be no expectation for private companies to close for either
holiday, however public companies would be expected to close
Events would still take place if in tenancy, it is the clients decision whether to close their
event or not
It is the clients’ responsibility to insure their show, against all eventualities.
Whether you love or hate the monarchy, the death of Queen Elizabeth II will have have
ramifications for us all.
