LAWSUIT – a request, appeal, action or proceeding
in a civil court. The process of bringing a problem
or claim, etc. before the court of law for settlement.
LAYER-CHECKING TECHNIQUE – in arson
investigation, the process of examining the strata
of debris, working through to the floor; may
indicate the sequence of burning.
