STRESS  –  refers  to  the  process  of  adjusting  to  or
                                 dealing  with  circumstances  that  disrupts,  or
                                 threatens  to  disrupt  a  person’s  physical  or
                                 psychological functioning.

                              STRIAE – a tiny furrows made by the action of a tool
                                 on an object's surface (e.g., marks left on a door's
                                 hinge from an attempt to force the door open with
                                 a pry bar).

                              STRUCTURAL  BARRIERS  –  these  are  features
                                 constructed  by  man  regardless  of  their  original
                                 intent that tends to delay the intruder. Examples
                                 are  walls,  doors,  windows,  locks,  fences,  safe,
                                 cabinets or containers etc.

                              SUB CULTURAL THEORY – related to strain theory
                                 is  sub  cultural  theory.  The  inability  of  youths  to
                                 achieve socially valued status and goals results in
                                 groups  of  young  people  forming  deviant  or
                                 delinquent  subcultures,  which  have  their  own
                                 values and norms.
