OCEAN PLAIT BRAID

Use the Ocean Plait Braid to make a floor or table mat. Old ropes may be
retired to serve as material for these mats. To make an Ocean Plait mat,
you’ll need a longer length of rope than you think, especially if you plan
to triple or quadruple the pattern to make the mat larger.

STEP 1 Start by making a right-handed Overhand Bend (see Chapter 2)

and lay it on a flat surface with the ends of the rope pointed upward.
