It has been 50 years for Donna Adams and it’s fair to say even she is surprised.
“When I started with Jewel I was asked if I wanted to join profit sharing. I
was told you had to be with the company at least 5 years to be fully vested
and I said oh no I won’t be here for 5 years.”

Donna began as a cashier at the now closed 95 and Jeffrey in Chicago,
transferred to 8721 Stony Island and finally #3063 South Holland. “It’s hard to
Donna Adams believe 50 years have passed so quickly. I have witnessed so many changes in

#3063 South Her advice to new hires? “Take your job seriously and enjoy meeting so many

When she is not working Donna is busy with her family which include a son and
a daughter, plus two grandchildren. 30
