YOU HAVE BEEN INVITED

I know a man who wanted to share his many bless-
ings with his friends and neighbors. He decided to
have a big party. He asked his son to send out invita-
tions to many people. Soon he started hearing back
from those he had invited. One told him that he
couldn't come because he had just bought some lake
property and was going there to see it. Another said
that he had just gotten a new convertible car and was
going for a long ride that particular day. Still another
said he had been invited to play golf with some
friends and he would be with them during that par-
ticular time. Another said he was going to a football
game the day before and would just be too tired to
attend the party. The man offering the party was dis-
appointed and even angry. He just didn't understand.
He certainly didn't want to waste all the time and re-
sources he had spent on the party.
