What happens if we want to change the lesson time?
Parents must give a minimum of 48hrs notice in advance to their instrument teacher, if they wish to
rearrange a lesson time due to illness or an outside school commitment (E.g. a doctor’s appointment
            etc.).

What happens if we are ill or have missed a lesson?
Parents must give 48 hours’ notice in advance to their instrument teacher. It gives enough time for
the teacher to contact other parents to reorganize the schedule and the lesson will be made up at
another time. If it is less than 48 hours’ notice, there is not enough notice for the teacher to rearrange
the schedule for that day and the lesson will not be made up.

What happens if we are on a school activity?
If the trip is in the school calendar, then any lessons missed will be made up

What happens if the teacher is absent?
If the teacher is absent and your child does not receive a lesson, then the teacher is responsible for
            making up this lesson.

How long do we need to practice for?
To be accepted into the Instrumental Lessons Program, students must be enthusiastic and committed
about learning to play their chosen instrument. It is expected that they will practice for 15 minutes
each day (a beginner student) and around ½ hour each day (advanced student). Parents are asked to
support and encourage their child by creating a designated quiet area for them to practice; help
students to maintain a regular practice schedule; listen regularly to their pieces and give lots of
            encouragement!

What happens if we want to continue?
Your teacher will email you before the end of term. You need to reply and confirm that you would
like to keep your child’s place. At the start of the new term, you will need to pay the fee and fill in an
            application form as before.

What happens if we want to stop?
At the end of the term, your teacher will contact you to ask if you wish to continue. You need to
inform them and/or Ms. Anne, in writing, if you wish to stop. If we do not hear from you, we will
assume that you wish to continue.

            Can we get a refund?
There are no refunds once the lessons have commenced each term. VISS reserves the right to
terminate those lessons, should a student behave inappropriately or frequently miss lessons. These
            fees will not be refunded.
