Saturday
The second and last night is another cup of tea. You can-
not compare and both nights are of top quality musicians
performing, but the vibe will surprise you. Sister Sledge ft.
Kathy Sledge, Di-rect, Yellowjackets, Eric darius & Althea
Rene, Di Mongo, Delbert Bernabela, Robert Pablo Trio,
Tribute to Sade, Cosy Cotton Band and Rebel Rockers are
on the three stages and yes, all in one night. A recipe for
joy as there will always be a performance that is to your
liking. Diversity is the golden key here.
During the festival there is plenty of opportunity to ab-
sorb some creativity and culinary treats as well. The Art
Expo will offer you works from local artists, realistic paint-
ings and abstract photos while the Arts & Crafts Market
has hand-made sculptures and handicrafts on the shelf
which make that unique souvenir for you to take home.
Connecting Culture
Talking about diversity, Aruba Today asks Eman if after all
these successful years he managed to keep in that spe-
cial feeling he had during the jazz concerts he heard as
a 7-year old boy. “Yes, for sure we do. There are festivals
that grew and grew and commerce took over from the
spirit, but with Caribbean Sea Jazz festival I can proudly
state that we still have that intimate, open-minded and
welcome-to-all feeling. This is for music lovers and thus for
everybody!” The festival is Eman’s business, but he could
never do it without a social base. “My drive is to connect.
Music lovers to art lovers to children to community. Cre-
ativity binds and I strive for one big connection during this
festival. Than we create this uplifted feeling of real joy!” q
