Mr. Kees van Muiswinkel, Chairman and Race Director of the Foundation Run in the Sun, enthusiastically
presented the ambition of the KLM Aruba Marathon: “For the 2nd edition, we expect to welcome more than
2,000 participants of at least 450 will come from abroad. We probably will be sold out (2.500 participants, but

we only know this by the end of this week). This year I am proud we have some top athletes at the start and I
expect a new Aruba Marathon record. The beach party after the finish will also be unique. Aruba’s famous
band ’NFUZION will be playing live on stage at Hilton Aruba’s beach starting at 07:30 am (Runners, Friends
and Family are invited, drinks and food against local prizes)

ESPN run will cover the race in Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Perú, Paraguay, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador,
Panamá, Costa Rica, México, Venezuela, Guyana, Surinam, Guyana Francesa, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El
Salvador, Honduras, República Dominicana. Audience: 20.000.000. Also 2 Marathon influencers and
