California Lighthouse temporarily closed to the public

NOORD — Monumentsfund Aru-
ba (SMFA) started with the res-
tauration of the California Light-
house in 2015. One year after, in
august 2016, the lighthouse was
officially opened to the public
for the first time in one hundred
years.

Faro Blanco Restaurant took
the challenge to rent the light-
house and offered tours for visi-
tors during the last two years.
The contract with Faro Blanco
has ended and Monumentsfund
Aruba as the owner of the light-
house is currently in conversa-
tions with potential new partners.
Meanwhile the Lighthouse will be
closed to the public so that we
can perform some maintenance
and prepare everything for the
new partners.

SMFA would like to thank Faro
Blanco for the work they have
done these past two years and
are looking forward to open the
doors once again for the public
to enjoy the beautiful view from
the top. q
